Ready-made solar panel protection shield for 2 strings

A ready-made DC protection shield for a 2-string solar power plant is designed to protect solar panels, cable lines, and the inputs of the inverter's MPPT controller from surge surges and emergency modes. The shield is assembled in a metal case with installed protective devices and is ready for connection after checking the compliance of the equipment parameters with the project.

The metal case is used to place protective devices and organize a secure connection.

2 TDCK GECBDC-63 C25 DC circuit breakers— one for each string, for switching and protecting DC circuits. The nominal value is 25 A.

2 DC fuse holders with installed fuse inserts to protect each string from overcurrents. The photo shows orange holders of the 10x38 type, marked 1000 V DC, 32 A; the nominal value of the installed inserts must be clarified.

2 sets of DC surge arresters (DCMS) — to protect equipment from surge surges. The ZOII ZY2-40 modules marked 500 V DC are installed in the photo.

2 sets of additional DC-ultrasonic orange protection modules installed in holders for 1000 V DC. The exact function and connection diagram must be confirmed by the manufacturer's documentation.

2 thermal aerosol extinguishing devices — for local suppression of fire inside the housing.

DIN rails and mounting elements are used for fixing automatic machines, fuse holders and protection modules.

Internal switching and connecting conductors are used to organize electrical connections inside the shield.

Important information before connecting

Before installation, it is necessary to check the maximum no-load voltage of the strings, taking into account the minimum temperature, the operating current of the panels, the permissible parameters of the MPPT inputs and the compatibility of all protective devices with direct current. A 500 V DC ultrasonic device cannot be used in a system where the rated voltage of the string may exceed the permissible limit of the device.

The shield must be connected by a qualified technician in compliance with the requirements for polarity, grounding, reverse current protection and the manufacturer's circuit. The actual configuration and connection diagram must correspond to the passport of the finished product.
